London, May 5; Lord Ifitcheqer reports an additional ten Boors killed, three wounded, and thirteen siirreadored. JShnety-three Boers, with 286,000 cartridges, 100 waggons with teams, and 2070 horses have been captured. May 6. De La Rey commands 5000 men at Hartebosstefoutein. General Babihgton, Lord Methuen and Major Sir Henry Rawlinson are trying to surround tlie Boer loader, and a battle is imminent. The columns in the Northern districts are executing a wide movement with the object of clearing the bush veldt. General Bundle is executing a similar movement in the north east portion of the Grange River Colony. Major-General Douglas and Colonel Benson, after bard fighting on the hills eastward of Dullstroom, dispersed some Boers and captured their laager and several prisoners. There were a few casualties on both airhs. Kruger has abandoned bis proposal to visit America. Lord Kitchener reports that an additional four Boers wore killed and five wounded, while thirty surrendered; 118 were captured, together with 10,600 cartridges and 120 waggons. Everything is quiet in Western Bechuanaland, The New South Wales A. Battery is returning thence homeward. May 7. Ten thousand Cape Town citizens presented Sir A. Christchurch, May G. Captain Hughes has received a cable from the military authorities at the Capo stating that Lord Kitchener is arranging for the passages of the men recruited by Captain Hughes for Brabant’s Horse, and instructing him to see the Governor upon tho matter. As a result Captain Hughes loft for Wellington this evening by the Rotorua.
