A team fro n the Waimate Club journeyed to Timaru ou Thursday to play a return match with the Tiiaaru Tennis '.'lub. Play commenced about 12 o'clock. In the .-)"C:oud ladies' doubles Misses -Miobam and Tenoent (Timaru) boat Mrs Dai ley and Miss M. Franklin (Waimate), 7 to 4, after a very interesting game. In the men's singles Matbias (\Vaimate) beat Lynch (Tiniarn), .6 to 4, -the " tossing " of the Waimate player being too accurate for Lynch, who smashed many of the balls into the net or out of the court. A third game was begun, but the rain came down in torrents and flooded the courts. As it was impossible to continue thij match, the visiting I earn returned by the express much pleased with their day's outing and with the hospitabie treatment they had received.
