Oddfellowship.

The quarterly summoned meeting: of the Loyal Heart of Friendship Lodge was held in the Oddfellows' Hall, Waitnate, .on Thursday evening, N.G. Bro. Fagan in the ehair. Some forty odd members vere present, including visitors from Timaru — P.G.M. Bros. Grandi, Beswiek and Pal User, and P.S. Macintosh. ■Correspondence from - Levin, Lyttelton, Christchurch, Ot.maru, Bangiora and Timaru Lodges, and from the Waimate Borough Qoin-

cil was received anil dealt with. The report of the district meeting and delegates' report were received and read. On the motion of P.G. Bro. J. Evans, a vote of thanks was passed to the delegate. Bio. Shackleton responded. The sick visitors' report was presented, showing that one member was declared on the funds, making three now on the funds. Sick pay (£4 17s 6d) was passed for payment. The Secretary read a list of apologies from absent members, and it was resolved that fines be enforced. The delegates from Tiiuaru paid their official visit to the Lodgn, and wore: accorded a hearty reception. The del-'gates, Bros. Grandi, Berwick and Macintosh, had been asked by their Lodge to make suggestions as to the desirability of amalgamating with Ashbtirton or forming a separate district. The visiiors were questioned by Bros. Sullivau, Jackson and Batcher, ami expressedthemsulvesstrongly in favour of supporting a separate district. On the motion of P.G. l?ro. Sulli run, it was resolved thai tiie Se-.:r-tary be instructed to obtain rules and further information, and to report at a future meeting. The usual sentiments of the evening were proposed ami replied to. . It was resolved, on iiie motion of Bros. Evans and Jackson, that a hearty vote of thanks be accorded the delegates for their information. Receipts for the evening were £2i>. This being all the business, the members adjourned to the supperroom, where a couple of hours were spent in harmony.
