Fitzgeralds’ Circus.

This huge show —menagerie, circus, gymnasium, variety hall, and what not —under canvas will be returning to Waimate on Tuesday, March 12th, for one night only. That they will draw an immense house is not the slighest doubt. Few would care to miss the opportunity of seeing such a gathering of star artiste's as Fitzgerald Brothers always bring. There are the French clowns, Guilliume and Aougoust in their amusing skit entitled “ The Toreadors ” in which they are aided by Black.” an intelligent performing dog of infinite jest, arrayed as a bull. Photograths of this performance, id niay he remarked in passing, occupied a number of pages of one of the large illustrated magazines at Home and was described as a wonderfully clever -one, the dog coming in for a great meet of praise. Then there is the high jumping contest between Newhaven, wiio jumped 6ft 2in at the recent Brisbane National Exhibition, and Cadet; the Giunezellas, most accomplished acrobats; Mdlle. Rosia Aqninaldo, the Cuban wonder, in her marvellous and graceful contortion act; Mdlle, Katie Montgomery, a plucky equestrienne, and Mdlle. Margarettu, who executes a Hying act on a fine horse called *‘ Bea.” The programme also includes several of the best turns of the old combinati m, among which must be mentioned t 1 e lion and elephant act. It is impossib e to chronicle the many wonders—they must be seen.
