The Bubonic Plague.

Brisbane, March 1. A case of bubonic plague has been discovered at Pinkernba, at tho mouth of the Brisbane river. Capetown, March 1. Professor Simpson, a well-known authority on sanitary matters, told the plague Advisory Board that the sanitary condition of parts of Capetown is worse than that of Bombay. Since the outbreak here .there have been seven deaths, and there are 21 cases in the hospital. Sydney, March 2. As a precaution against plague, all vessels from South Africa are thoroughly fumigated. Everything is ready for prompt action in case of the reappearance of plague, and similar precautions are being taken in other States, A suspected case of plague has been discovered on the troopehip Antillian, which has arrived from Capetown. The victim was a seaman, who was immediately quarantined. March 8.

The military authorities at Capetown have advised Sir W. J. Lyno that, owing to the plague at (’apetown, the Australian military mails must bo sent via London. The Board of Health, haring been officially informed that the Queensland case was a true case of plague, strin gent measures against Queensland shipping are again being enforced. Olson, tho seaman on the Antillian, the suspected plague patient, died to-night. He developed tho suspicious symptoms on Wednesday last. The medical opinion is that the case is one of plague, but that there is no need for alarm, as tho Antillian never came near the wharf. '
