Fire in a Train Shed.

o Dunedin, IV;. 14' A disastrous fire broke out in the Tramway Company’s shed, Cumberland street, early this morning, resulting in the shed being practically gutted, and in the. destruction of a dozen cars. The night watchman at the stable on the opposite side ot the street, at five minutes past midnight saw everything quite safe. At 2.15, hearing a noise, he looked in the direction of the door, and saw a glare of fire under it, and on going out he found the had a strong hold, The (festr iction of so much stock will fqr a time seriously inconvenience the city traffic. This is the second time the city tramways have suffered from fire.

The insurances on the fire were in the Royal and London and Lancashire, each £2250 on the cars, and in the Imperial £I3OO on the building.
