The Imperial Troops.

The Mayor has received a communication from Mr Ward, stating that the Imperial troops leave Melbourne by the Britannic on the 29fcb fo: the Bluff, they embark at Lyttletou on the evening of the sth for Wellington, and remain here till the morning of the Bih, wh«n they leave for Napier. Mr Ward asks that arrangements be made to billet the 1000 men ashore for two nights, and accommodation for 50 ofi6oer3 at the leading hottls> These arrangements may, bowevar, be altersd according to news raoeived withiis the next day or two. The Mayor has Informed Mr Ward that, while he would assist in the efforts which would undoubtedly be mad i to give the Im* perial troops a warm welcome, ho cannot oallupoo theoitizena to pay for any part of their entertainment, as the troops had been Invited here by the Government, and wore the latter's guests.
