Waimate Racing Club.

The adjourned annual meeting was held in the Waimate Hotel, there being a fair attendance of members. " I Mr E. 0. b.tndholnie, President, \ occupied the chair. The election of officers resulted as follows : President and Judge, Mr Studholme ; Handi capper, Mr Dowse ; Treasurer, Mr Matfcna% Clerk of the Course, Mr W. B. Freeman ; Hog. Secretary, Mr J. W. Freeman; Oißcersex officio, Messrs 0. Studholme, F. Slee and McLennan ; Ground Committee, Messrs Bmney, Twoniey, Quinn, O'Leary and Freeman. ; The Chairman having' to l^ave the meeiing, Mr Noiton Jj-i'diMai was voted to the ctmir. ' ~" ;'; ' As Mr Bourne is leaving South Canterbury, it was decided to hold over the appointment of a -starter till next meeting, a letter of tbanks to be sent to Mr Bourne for his past services. Messrs F. J. Buckley and J. O'Connor were elected members of ta.e club. The programme for the forth- | coming meeting was considered j at length and amended. The J chief alterations are the cutting,! out of the District Race and substituting a Welter xlace, ' -wiih " additioual prize nioue-y in this and several other event 3. A vote of thanks to the chair terminated the proceedings.
