Horticultural Society.
A committee meeting of the above was hold last evening, present, Messrs N. Francis (chair) and G. Akhurst, Clear, Nieol, I Howard, J. W. Manchester and Scott, secretary. Judges were appointed for the various classes. It was decided to ask Miss Hayes and Miss Clarke to take charge of the refreshment stall. Special prizes were received and allotced as follows :— Mr Loach 7s 6d for most points in cut flowers (amateur class) and Mr H. B. M'Gowan, 5s each for best decorated bicycle and -table. Messrs Francis, Dean J and Akhurst were appointed judges of cottage gardens. A discussion took place -re forming a Chrysanthemum Club as aa auxiliary to the society and the subject is to be kept in view..
