The total British casualties - were 13 killed and 25 wounded. •-. September 12. President Kruger arrived &*, Delagoa on Tuesday. General Buller fought 10 miles through difficult mountains on Sunday, and, the King's Rifles and Gordons and Artillery supporting, he drove the Boers from successive crests. Sixty waggons were seen at sunset, six miles distant. The Boer leaders admit that at last the army is broken, and have decided to declare a guerilla warfare. The garrisons at Ladybrand, Ficksburg and Senekal have been withdrawn to assist Major-General Hunter in pursuing and enveloping the commandos.
