Rifle Shooting. STUDHOLME v NORTH OT AGO

The Studholme Mounted' Rifles shot their first match on Saturday last, at Waimate, In fact, it was the first time members of this troop had been on a range. The match was igainstSergeantWain's team from the North Otago Mounted Rifles, and consisted of six a gide. The eh tllenge came from Sergeant Wain, who, together with Mrs "Wain, most kindly entertained both parties at afternoon tea on the range, which was much appieciated by aIL The old range was kindly lent by Mr Francis for the occasion. At the close of the match, three cheers were given by the Stud hoi me Mounted Bifles for the Noilli Otago Mounted Rifles, and three more for Mrs Wain, who, hy-the-way, had fired the first, shot, scoring a very creditable four. The cheers were heartily returned by the Otago men. Appended are the scores, by which it will be seen the Studholme Mounted Bifles were winners by 70 points. The most friendly rivalry exists between the two troop 3, and hopes were expiessed for i'uither conksts :
