Library Committee.
The Library Committee held a meeting in the Borough Council Chainbeti last evening, the following being present: Messra Hamilton (chair), Dean (secrotary), Mann, O'Connor, Menzies, Scott, Wilson, Smith and Key. McEenzie Gibson. The chairman explained that fcb« meeting had been called to oonside* the question of getting temporary premises for a library. The Fir« Brigade Station was available at 5s pet week. Some dispussion took plaoe as to whether it were not advisable to erect a temporary building for use as f» library, but it was decided to rent the Mre Brigade Station in the ma-as time. A requisition was received from h»tf' a-dozen subscribers, asking for a publio meeting to consider the whqje librarj question. Eeaolved to hold a meeting on Wednesday, September IS, th« secretary to arrange for a meeting* room.
