TQ THE EDITOR. Sir. My attention baa been drawn to 5 letter appearing in your isauo of Saturday, in which the writer suggests that sub'-ciip-tion hats should be opened on xny bohalf. While fully appreeia'ing the kindnes9aid smpathy which, I believe, has prompted I the suggestion, I must respectfully ask I that the carrying out ot any such propoail ' betsopped at once. lam not a wealthy man, but neither can I be called a poor one ; certainly lam not in straitened oir. cumstancea, so that, however well nieunl, la sub o-iption list would ha entirely out 0! pjace, I hope, with health and strength on xay a ide, and, should I add ? the permission of the fire fiend, to soon surmount any present difficulties, and in course of time make good the losses I have suffered through the late fires.
