General Rundld's Yeomanry patrols at Froadwater, Bethlehem district, unearthed 140.000 rounds of Mauser ammunition and 12 Krupp shell. They i arrested several concealed Boera.
August 26. General Buller is at present at Leeuwkloof, six miles southwest of Dalmanat'aa. He reports that through a mistake on Thursday evening the line of two companies of the Liverpoo' Regiment, advancing in a hollow out of sight of the main body, got surtounded. Ten Wdre killed, forty six wounded, thirty-two aref missing, and seventeen other casualties occurred.
Weixington, August 23. The rn6n of the New Zealand contingents who returned by the Gothic have been medically examined. It was found that Captain Tanner would require to go into the hospital to undergo an operation, and Trooper Malcolm (of Nelson), who is not deemed sufficiently recovered frofci his malady t is to go into the Nol-^n hospital. The remainder of the company were found to be fit to return to cheir homes and extended leave is to be given them.
Invercakglll, August M. Trooper Fahey of the First Oontin gent, invalided from the Transvaal, after a severe wound, is a passenger iby tlve Waikare, and his corps; the Southland Mounted Rifles, will give him a public reception to-morrow and entertain him next week.
