Hockey.
A meeting of the committee of the Waimate Hockey Club was held last erening, when final arrangements were made in connection with the match with Sydenham on Thursday. The visitors will arrive on Wednesday and be entertained at a dinner in the evening. The following is the Waimate team : — Goal-keeper, J Stevenson ; threequarters, C Manchester, 0 J Goldstone and W George ; halves, L Beeves and A Finnic; forwards. A Berry, G Wilson, H Coxon, S Asquith and E Morrow ; emergencies J Sims, H Wilson, M Heftley and Butcher. Play will commence at 1.45 sharp.
