Bowling Club.

Owing to other attractions and thrt bad weather, only a few members turned out to the annual meeting of the Bowling Club, tilled for last evening. The report and balance sheet were examined, and those .present decided that the members had e^ery reason to congratulate Hhemeelveson the very satisfactory position of the club. Several opinions were expressed to the ♦effect that the Wpimate Bowlinj <Clnb was in a sounder position than any "in New Zealand. The meeting was adjourned till this , evel nng, when it is hoped there •will be a large attendance.

ANNUAL. REPORT. The annual report was presented. It showed that the season bad been a fairly successful one. 'The opening day had been a great sac<ses3, sides being chosen by the piesident and the vice-president, and afternoon tea being kindly provided by the l?dy friends of {he club. A match, had been pliyea with the Tiinaiu Club on fch 29th, but the Waimate players, though enjoying thein*selves greatly, were rather badly beaten. The pair of bowls presented by the president had been xron by Mr W. id. Hamilton, who, not content with the poor competition for them, had again -offered them to be re-competed for. Some very good games resulted, but the winner is not }et determined. There are still several trophies left uncompeted for, including a gold modal •presented by Mr Ooltman, and a pair of hilver-mmmtcd bowls from Messrs Fletcher and Humphreys.
