Severe weather militated against both entries and attendance at Addington market U-day. The yarding included 4000 fat sheep, 200 fat lambs, 2200 store sbfcep, 589 cattle, ' and 812 PP J g«Fat cattle. — 224 head yarded, being mostly handy weight sorts, with only a few prime steers. Sixteen iteers from the North Island, which were not so good as th» previous consignment, brought J67 2s 6d to £9. The market was slightly firmer for bast sorts, and prime b«of sold at 20a to 22s 6d per 1001b ; good, 17s to 19s ; cow and inferior, 15a to 16s 6d ; local 1 steers, £1 to .£8 12t 6d for best, and £5 10a to .£6 15s for others. B«3t heifers, £d to £8 and £9 17s 6d to £5 10a for lighter oows. ! Store cattle. — There vr»B a large yarding, moe* of which were rough station sorts, which did not meet with I much demand. One hundred three-year-old heifers brought £2 10a to J63 6s i 18-month-old steers, j£2; do heifers, £2 2s ; yearlings, £1 10s to £1 15a ; and dry cowa, £2 8a to £8 ss. The fat sheep yarded included Borne prims heavy-weight wethers and ewes. a few freezing Jinea and some secondary merfnos. At first butchers had the market to themselves, but later on freezer buyers stepped in and all classes hardened in price. Heayy wethers, 20s to 22s 66l : freezers, 16s 9d to 193 lOd ; lighter, 15s lOd to 16d 63 ; prime ewes, 183 to 21s 3d ; good,' 15s to 17s 6d ; inferior, 13s to 14s 6d ; merino wethers, 13s to 16a 6d for good, and 10s 3d to 12s 6d for others. Fat lambs. — As the season is drawing to a clos# there was a small entry. The quality is only secondary, and prices ranged from 10s lid to 14b.

Store »he9p.-— The yarding Trass mixed, and all sorts sold well. The principal lines were 254 wethers at 16s , 4d, 201 at 15s Id and 500 at 14s 2d to 14a lOd. In ewes, 312 brought 14i 10d4>o 15s Id and 184 at 15b 2d, and little lots of hoggets 11s to 12b 3d. Pigi, the medium yarding of pig« was comprised principally of fate. Stores were in short «uppl;jr and were selling well. Bftooners, 80s to -88s, and up to 42a £d for a pen of extra heayy, or equal to '3d to 3jd per lb ; porkers, 20s to 28s, or equal to 3£d to 3-fd per lb ; stores, 11s to 15s, and suckers and weaners, 6s to Bs.
