The annual meeting of the above was held in the County Council Chambers on Saturday afternoon* wheu there was a very fair attendance of membors. '" Mr Beckett, President of the Association, occupied the chair and read the annual report aud balttu.ee shsetj which was adopted on the motion of Mejssrs Maihia3 and Douglas. \ The annual report congratuled monabera on the results of last year's woiking. it having bean th«j most euccoo&ful in the annals of the Association- SuboCiiptions had shown an irieroc-HG oi £'61, entrance mousy £2] , and there had been an increase of £22 in the prize moneyV The attendance xs the lasi, show had been a record, £15 id ore tlnui the previous year having h> Hi U ken at the gate. The funds of tho Association are in an improving state. Commencing with a debit ba lance of XI S IGs 7d, a credit balance of £52 14s 2d had boen obtained, besides which about .£2O had been expended in ■ improving the Association's property. The Balance Rhfeet showed a credit balance of £52 14<? 2d." The chief roco'ipts were : Subsciipfcions £100 ss, entries. £68 11s, gate £56 14s, and privolege* £12 9a, the total being £242 s*, 6d. Expenses : Prizes £89 11s 6d. secretary £21, and work on grjund, £19. Mi Sauntleis refcired to the loss the Assocuition had bii stained through the death of the late j\lr Moiton. It was decided that a letter of condolence be fc.etit lo Mrs uiortion. 1 The election of officers resulted as follows : Preqidonfc, Mr B, ckett ; vicepiasidont, Mr Hertslett ; treasurer, Mr McLean. It wai lecided to advertise for a secretary. In returning thanks for his re ploet.ion the President smJ that the Association waa ijow going on very well. The membei-ohip numbered 125. Tha President said that when ths Secretary had le f t Waimat^ six months ago Mr Freeman had consented to act pro. tern., for winch he was deserving of the Association best thanks. Mr Freeman had done a large amount o! work and refused any remuneration. As Mr Freeman would not accept the secretary's honarium, it was decided to vote him £5 with whteh to purchase somi suitable memento. Votes of thanks were also passed to the retiring officers and chairman.
