Rumour has it that the Opposition Party propose forming a Young Now Zealand Party, with the object of attracting to their side many of the Government supporters who are etabued with the spirit of patriotism, and further, with the idea of strengthening Mr James Allens claims to the leadership. No decision was come to at a meeting held on Friday as to who should lead, but I am informed Captain Russell shows no disposition whatever to retire, while on tho other hand, there is a growing feeling in favour of Mr Allan assuming the position" The proposal for forming a Young New Zealand Party does not seem a particularly strong one, although it is understood to carry with it a large and forward policy of constructing new lines of railways in all parts of the oolony at a rapid rate.
