CHKisafcHURCH, Feb. 14, There was an average attendance at Addington yards, but to a large extent it consisted of those who were prevented by the showery weather from prosecuting 'their harvest work and with laige supplies and indifferent bidding values had a disposition "to weaken. The entries comprised 448 cattle, 13,631 sheep, and 317 pigs. Fat cattle : The entry of 214 head was chiefly made up of heifers and cows, and the yarding as a whole was of a mixed quality. The demand was dull, and withdrawals were large. Some of the< best beef being sold privately. Prime , beef sold at the rate of 18s to 20s ; medium 16s to lYs ; and inferior from 10s per cwt. Steers fetched £5 12s 6d to, £8 and £9 ; heifers, £4 2s 6d to £6 7s 6d ; cows, £3 10s to £6 7s 6d, and one at £8 2s. Store cattle weie a large entry, but after a tew well-feed lines the quality was indifferent There was a good demand for useful stock. Five-year-old steers, £5 2s 6d ; three-year-old heifers, £3 17s 6d to £i 3s ; two-year-old heifers, 65s ; eighteen months mixed ptook, 545 : yearlings, 35s ; and calves, 30s to 395. Fresh cows sold at £4 6s <sd ; young fattening cows nt £3 10a and old at 50s. Dairy stock were of irregular quality. Theie was fair competition, arid the entry v»as fairly cleai-ed at 37s 6d to £6 ss, one well-conditioned Jersey fetching £9 12s 6d. The fat sheep sale opened well, but the entry consisting mostly of ewes, competition and prices fell off. Towards the finish wethers fetched from 14s lOd to 17s 7d ; maiden ewes to 15s 5d ; butchers' prime ewes 13s to 14s lid ; others from 11& ; merino wethers, 10s 6d to 11s 6d ; fat lambs, heavy weights, 13s 6d to 13s 9d ; piime freezers, 11s 6d to 12s 7d; others from 10s 8d ; store sheep and lambs were the laigest entry of the season. The sale opened well, but buyers, not being numerous, the bidding fell off, and the latter part of the entry met with a dragging demand. Pigs. — Large entry, especially of ntores ; and with limited competition prices receded all round. Prime baconexs, 3d per lb ; porker, 3 l-2d ; per head, baconers sold at 30s to 39s ; porkeis, 24s to 31s ; stores, 12s to 6d 21s ; weaners from 6s 6d.
