There was a poor yarding and fewer buyer? than usual. hheep.— Although there were more sheep (3614) than last week and the new freezing ftrm had a buyer on the ground prices weie down quite Is per head. Wethers speaking generally were of extra goo t d quality the top price being 17s. The lenoainder fetched from 12* 6d to 15s 6d, the balance being in favour of lower prices. F.wes maintained their pi ices a shade better, Messrs D. Reid and Co, obtaining 16s 6d for a small but extia fine pea. Average prices from 12s 3d to 14s 9d. Lambs. — The season is practically done for Jambs, only 50 .being yarded, and already, buyers are looking fpr^rd to a few weeks time when the i 899 lambs will be at Burnaide. Prices from 9s to 10s 6d. Pigs. — 81 against 146 last week, and prices still .maintain their high rate. Quotations — Suckers 13s 6d to 17s 6d, slips 21s to 1 255, stores 2951t0 315,/porkefs 32s to^3Bs 6d, light haconers 40s to 4~5s r heavy baconers 48s to 52s 6d, big pigs £3 ss.

Cattle.— Only 122 • were yarded this week. When the sales opened there was a j-ise^of fully 15s a head, bpt befoie they had closed prices had if anything dropped below last week's value.
