The Perthshire. Sydney, June 1
A tug reports speaking tlic barque Noitliern Chief, from Kaipara, off tb« coast. The captain of the latter reported that he had passed the Perthshire last Thursday in latitude 84 south, longitude 164 east, about 400 inilbs'northof Capa Maria Van Diernen. The Perthshire reported all well. The Northern Chief met with heavy weather after passing the Perthshire. The Stella, which left Holrianga on Monday, was reported off Cape Maria van Diernen, going south, at 4 p.m. yesterday. It is thought that she has been cruising from tne three Kings! southw ards in soarch of the Perthshire. The latest is that the Stella is coining in at Kaipara Heads alone. In respouse tp enquiries from the light;,.,, keepers, she. signalled tthart r there, wasi so far no siqu of the missing steamer in that locality.
