STUDHOLME MONTHLY SALE.
Messrs Guinness and LeCren (per D.P. M'Lean, agent) report that at this sale yesterday the entries comprised 5000 sheep and 50 head of cattle. As was anticipated, a moat decided rise took place in all classes of stock, and with very few exceptions every line changed hands. In fact some lines were turned over once or twice before the sale commenced, and before the day closed some of the original owners had cause to regret their haste in disposing of their stock and thus missing the rise. However the sale was a successful one, and as has been the case lately the supply was not equal to the demand. In sheep top prices were obtained ; for freezing sheep, Mr F. W. Bradshaw, a pen of 124 maiden ewes and wethers 17s 6d ; for lambs, Mr James Bi'ownlee, a pen of prime three-quarter-breda, and for ewes in lamb, Mr E. H.
