Waimate County Council.
The usual monthly meeting of the above was held on Wednesday ; present — Messrs Douglas (chair), Lyall, Elworthy, Henderson, Rhodes, and Studholme. An apology was received from Mr Walker The minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed. The chairman said that since last meeting one of their members, Mr Walker, had lost his second son by a gun accident. He believed it was the wish of members that an adjournment should be made, after a little pressing business had been dealt with.
It was decided to send a letter of condolence to Mr "Walker and family. It was decided that the special annual recurring rate on the Lower Waihao Irrigation district be five eighths of a penny in the £, and that the interest rate on the Lower Pareora Irrigation district be five-eighths of a penny in the £ Accounts amounting to JG352 17s 8d were passed and the meeting adjourned for a week.
