Cattle. — 253 head of cattle were yarded, a fair proportion only being good bullocks. Aged cows were in strong evidence. Good quality beet excited keen competition at tlie opening, but as business, progressed the bidding became less brisk, and there was an all round drop of 103 p3r head on last week's puces. Best ballocks brought ,£3 to £3 10s, medium £6 12s 6d to £7 17s Gd, others <£4 to £S 10s, bsst cows and heihjis £5 5-> to <£6 ss, medium £3 15s to i.'4, others £2 10s to ,£3 12s Bd. Shoep. — 1695 fat shoep were penned. Only one third were fair to good wethors, the balance half fat wethers and ewes, with a few pens of vnv heav\ ewes. The t.ales opened at a slight decline and held at that all through the day. Best wethers brought l'2s 9d to 14s. medium 10s 9d to 12s (3d, light priil niteiioi 9s to 10s 6d, best e%\es "\eiv he.nv to 13s, good 10s 6d tolls9d, others 7s' to 9s (sd. 1211 fat lambs were pern cd. About two-thirds weie fair to best quality. Competition was good. Best fetched 9s Gd to 10s 9d. medium 7s 9d to 9s 3d, otheis 6s 6d to 7s 6d. Pigs. — Only 67 pigs \\cve penned. Suckers brought 11s to 15s 6d, slips 20s to 235, stares 25s to 32s 6d, porkers 08s to 40s, baconers 55s to 58s. Wheat. — For foul feed there has been more inquiry, lesulting in considerable business, but pending the armaloithe new crop there ib nothing fiesh to lepnrt in respect to othei boits. Pi line m lling velvet and tusaan is quoted at Vi-> 8d to 2s 9d, fair milling 2s sd, fowl wheat Is 9d to 2s ; ex store, sacks in. Oa.ts. — The maiket shows no change. With the preseut spell ot fine weather heaxy consignments may shortly be expected, but in the event ol values leecdmg it is likely that a good deal of tne crop will be kept in stack. Meantime quotations — Good to bdst feed Is 5d to Is 6d, far to medium Is 4d to Is 4kl, inferior Is 2d to Is 3d ; ex store, sacks extra.
