CHBISTCHUECH, February 8. The heavy south-west rain inlerfez'ed considerably with business at Aclchnsjton to-day, and the attendance was small. Cattle. — The beef was mostly handvweiglit stuff and the sale was rather dull, a good many cattle being passed and last week's rates being barely rriftintained. Steers sold at £5 to £1 15s, heifers M 15s to £5 17a 6d, cows £3 10s to £i 17a 6d. Next to nothing was doing in dairy and store cattle. Sheep. — The bulk of the fat sheep were ewes, including some Very prime lots and only a few lines of freezers, freezing sorts and best butcher's' sorts met good competition and fully upheld late rates, but the poorer classes df ewes were in sucli force as to be a perfect drug and many lots were not sold. Wethers brought from 12s to 14s 4d, best ewes lOs to 12s 9d, medium do 8s to 9s 9d, and inferior 5s to 7s 6d. The better classes of fat lambs were very firm, freezing softs bringing from lOs 6d to lls lOd, and butchers 8s to 10s. All classes of stores sold well. A line of two-tooth wethers (1300) at 10s to lOs Id, others 10s to 10s 6d, mixed two-tooths 10s to 10s 6d, othei' mixed sexes 8s 9d to 103 6d, young breeding ewes 10s to lls lOd, Boundmouthed do 7s 6d to 93 6d, and aged 3s 8d to 6s 6d, good lambs 8s 2d to 99 Id, and others down to ss.
