Cattle. — 200 bead of fat cattle \rere yarded. Prune woro m fair demand and realised about equal to List week's prices. Best hillocks sold at £8 10s to £9 10s, medium JE7 to JGB, light and inferior £4 10s to £& 10s. •Sheep. — 2547 fat sheep were penned, which proved more than equal to butchers 1 requirements, and buyers for freezing were not operating. Prices in consequence sufiered a decline of 6d to Is per head. Best crossbred wethers sold at 12s to 13s 6d, one pen extra prime 14s 9d r medium 10s 6d to 11s 3d, small and inferior 8s to 9s 6d, best ewes 9s 6d to 10s yd, medium and inferior 7s to 9s 3d. 600 fat lambs were yarded, all grade's meeting with a good demand. Best brought 9s 9d to 11s, medium 8s to 9s 3d. inferior 6s 6d to 7s Gd. Pigs. — Onlj 74 pig* were yarded. There was a spirited sale. Suckers sold at 14s to 15s, slips 20s to 245, stores 26s to 325, porkers 36s to 445, baconers 48s to 555. Wheat. — There is still an enquiry for prime velvet and tuscan, but medium and second class is practically unsaleable except at fowl feed pneea. Prime velvet is quoted at 3s 6d to 3b 7d, tuscan and red sorts 3s 3d to 3s 4d, fowl feed 2s 3d to 2s 6d ; sacks in, terms. Ovts. — Since the holidays there has been a better demand, but without quotable change in prices. Milling ia quoted at Is lOd to Is lid, best feed Is 9d to Is 9}d, medium la 7d to Is 8d ; eaoks extra.
