CVTTLE. 297 fat cattle were yarded. Best bullocks sold at £1 to £10 2s 6d, others £5 4s to 15si, cows £2 5s to £8 15s.
SHEEP. 2027 fat sheep were penned. Prime Were in good demand and sold well. Best wethers sold at 10s 6d to 13s 3d, others 9s to 10s 3d, ewes 5s 6d to 10s 6d. Fat lambs. — In view of the Christmas demand all sold Well at fully late rates ; best at 10s to 12s 9d, others 7s to. 9s 9d- J
PIGS. 276 pigs Were yarded and sold at full rates.
GRAIN. > Wheat. — The demand from millers has chiefly been for prime samples of northern velvet, but in many cases choice tuscan has been placed on equal terms. Medium to good samples have also received some attention. Prime milling sells at 3s 6d to 3s 9d. medium to good 3s 5d to 3s 6d, fowl wheat (whole) 2a 6d to 2s Bd, broken 2s 3d to 2s 6d ; sacks in. Oats. — Local stocks have now become considerably reduced, but shippers evince but little disposition to operate except for actual orders. Prime milling is not so strongly enquired for, and all sorts are somewhat difficult to place at late quotations. Prime milling is quoted at Is lOd to 2s, good to best feed Is 9£d to Is lOd, medium to fair Is 6d to Is 9d ; sacks extra.
