THE WAIHAO CONCERT.
(to the editor.) ' Sm, — Aa I happened .to be at "Walhao on *Oct. 28th, I -went to the concert given by I Miss Falconer (Oamaru) -and her pupils,-and - from .what . l heard . I think she should get ;great credit for the way she has brought the pupils on. ,1 was informed that some of them had hardly been a year learning music, but •■with -one -'exception they all did iplendidly. 'But it is of the conduct of the young men of Waihao thatJ wish to speak. I have travelled ,-a good deal, but-such larrikins I never befora met. Their- conduct at the concert was bad enough, but at tht dance that followed it was ■dreadful. They "not only .annoyed .evory respectable person, but destroyed thing they could. I think th« school committee (or ■whoever was in charge) must be an easy-going lot to allow-such conduct to be carried on. It is .a -wonder people attend the Waihao -concert*, if the one I was at is a specimen. Hoping you will find room for this in your <esteemed paper, — I am, etc., One Who Was Thebe.
