BOROUGH FOOTPATHS.
(to the editob.) 'Sib, — Women do not, as a rule, write on Boiough matters, but I have been struck with the way our Borough Council does its work. All the winter we have had slimy -slippery footpaths to our stieetß, -and now that the fine weather is coming and the grass is growing nice and green on the sidewalks, ►and we get about with pleasure, the Council las spread a lot of soft sandy shingle over them, making it very unpleasant to walk on with our thin shoes. lam sure, sir, if I were to do my work in such a slipshod manner, I ,do not know what my husband would say. I think if they had a few women councillois they would manage better than they ate doing, and not waste the public money in ,such & manner. I know that this is not •exactly the subject for the ladies' column, but ,by inserting these few lines you will greatly — I am, etc., Only a Woman.
