Roberts in the chair. Eev. McKenzie Gibson was re-eleetcd as piesident, Mr W. J. Eobeits as fGaptain,E. Studholme Esq. as deputy captain. .Mr J. Macpheison kmdly lent his paddock for tplay. Seven new membeis weie elected. *The balance-sheet showed a fail suiplus, and "the subscription was reduced to ss. Mr J. -Jacobs was the winner of both bat and ball .for best average. The opening day of the incoming season will be, Thuisday, Sept. 15th. . .The conceit in aid of the "Waimate Brass Band instrument fund piornises to be one of the best that has yet been seen in Waimate. 'The performance is arranged into three paits -viz., Christy minstrel entertainment, variety and farce. The services of the best ■■of the local amateurs have been obtained and pi actices are in full swing. The solos and ojhoruses are particularly good and the farce is wproariously funny. The date has been fixed iorthe 15th of Sept., -when a bumper house is 4npeoted.
