Hospital Board.

, A meeting ot the above was held on Wednesday in the County Council Chambeis ; present — Messrs Douglas (chair), Atwill, Murphy, Petit, Sinclair, Coltman, Jjyall and Dr Barclay. The minutes of previous meeting were read and confhmecL The Matron's report showed that seven patients bad been discharged during the month, and that £7 8s 7d had been received in payments. The Surgeon's leport showed that 23 patients had been treated and 7 discharged, leaving 16 under treatment. Correspondence was read from the South Canterbury Charitable Aid Board, acknowledging receipt of Mr H. D. Bell's opinion. It had been referred to their solicitois, whose opinion remained unaltered. Some discussion took place re the conference the Timaru Board had decided to hold. Mr Coltman said they were' in the same position as before. If the Timaru Board liked to get further legislation he would say let them. The Timaru Board wished to place ihe Trustees in the position they now believed themselves to be. It -was ultimately resolved that the chairman and Mr Nicol (Mayor of Waimate) attend the conference. The visitois' report showed everything in good order except that the windmill required repairing. —It was decided that Mr Aiwill have matter attended to. , Dr Barclay brought up the question of milkI'ing at the Hospital. The present arrangec ments wore unsatisfactory, and after discua- . elan it was decided that outside assistance be engaged, the extra remuneration given to the servant girl to be deducted for this purpose.

Messrs Coltman"and Petit were appointed visitors for the ensuing month. Mr Murphy handed in his resignation as a member of the Board. — Accepted with regret, and his services to be recorded on the minutes. The matter of a successor was held over. Accounts amounting to £78 7s lOd w«re passed and the meeting ended.
