VICTORIA.

The Melbourne "Argiu" of tho 6th inst. reports : —

In the import markets to-day, trade generally has not been characterised by much activity ; the transactions effected, however, point to an increasing speculative feeling iv the markets. Broadsfcuffs bear a much firmer aapect, and flour i 3 decidedly in bettor favor, for although country brands 6f Victorian aro still disposed of at Ll3 to Ll3 10s, about a hundred tons having been placed to-day, tho town millers steadily refuse to sell uuder lili. Our attention has been directed to the fact of some 203 tons having been sent forward to Sydney in the You Yanga. A parcel of wheat has also been purchased at 5s 9d for tho same market. Tho circumstance is of interest, as showing this to bs a bolter market to purchase in than Adelaide. Oat 3 are firm at 3a Id to 3s. 2d. Currants are being moved off more freely as the week advances. Wo hear of numerous sales at 4J. Trade sales of candles arc mentioned at 12d for Do Roubtux. Malt attracts a great deal of notice ; besides smaller parcels, wo learn of some 12,000 bushels having been sold to arrive, at a price said fully to sustain current rates, Forty pockets of '66 hops have beeu disposed of at 2s 9d to 3s, according to quality. A good deal of excitement has prevailed in korosino oil, speculative attention having been drawn to tho article, which ha 3 led to the disposal of soino 10,000 cases, chielly to arrive, and prices havo advanced from Is 9d, at which Cozzons's was offering yesterday without finding bnyers, to 16 lid, which ia now asked ; and Brilliant, which was quitted at Is 9d in tho morning, realised Is lid towardj the afternoon. It is, however, feared that stocks on hand aro far too heavy, and the quantity on tho way too largo, to admit of tho movement being other than temj)orary. In tobaccoes we hear of a lino of tons having been placed at Is 2d. Teas aro in good request. Some 400 packages of tho Albert Jures and Matador's fine medium congous, in chests and half-chests, have met with purchasers afc prices ranging from Is 9d to 28 3d. Sales of fine tens tobaccocs have been mado at Is 2d. There has been more enquiry for cornaacks ; a parcel of thirty bales Dundee was placed at 12s 6d in bond, and a line of twenty -five bale 3 Calcutta was quittod at 12s 10^d also in bond.
