Tho "Daily Times," of the 11th instant, reports as follows :—: — Easiness during tho week just closed has possessed a moderate amount of animation, and though no vevy considerable operations have been going forward, a decided improvement upon the late dullness has taken place, and it seems probable that a steady trade will be dono for tho present. Brcadstuffs aro without any alteration ; the transactions have been almost confined to provincial produce and to local requirements. Oats still remain very depressed, and 210 shipments are making for other ports. Tho business done in sugai-s has been small, botli privately and by auction. The Ethel's cargo, ottered by auction on tho Bth instant, attracted but little attention, and the quantity quitted by tho hammer was inconsiderable. .Buyers are disposed to wait for tho next sale, lo tnke place on the 15th — uutil that is over no business can bo expected. Transactions in teas have been light. The Rubicon, from Foo-Chow, has brought the first cargo of new season teaa. No sales of any importance will be likely to occur until the new congous have been offered. For proyisions aud malt liquors in bottle the demand in small parcels has been fair at maintained prices. Spirits have a more encouraging aspect, though the light sales of both bulk and case spirits have not allowed of any great alteration in rates. Dried fruits suitable for tho coming season are iv demand. Some small transactions in corn sacks have occurred. ■ The timber trade is looking better. The market is baro of Seotcli flooring and of sound I native pine, both red and white.
