(TO THE EDITIOR OF THE WEST COAST TIMES.)
Sib — T wish to correct an inaccuracy which, appears in your is*ue of to-daj. In referring tothe accidental discharge of a revolver at Stafford Town, by which Mr Williams was slightly hurt, you state that I bad several times fired off the revolver into the ground. I beg to deny this, as the revolver was only discharged once, and then by pure accident. Furthermore, I had only one cartridge in my possession, the revolver being of peculiar construction. Eegretting the circumstance, and at the same time thankful that the result wa« not more serious, I am des-rous that the impi ession should not get abroad that I would wantonly amuse myself with a dangerous weapon at the risk of the public safety. I am, &c, Thos. B. Smith, Propi-ietor of the Montezuma Hotel. Stafford Town, Dec. 17, 1866.
