THE BREAD MOVEMENT.
(to the editor of the west coast times.) Sir — The committee appointed by the meeting held last night at the Shamrock Hotel, for the purpose of canvassing the town in order to obtain the support of consumers of bread to be given to the first baker who should reduce the price of the 41b loaf to one shilling, find then" labors will be unnecessary, inasmuch as tho trade generally have already responded to the movement by a reduction to the price required. I am, therefore, requested by the committee to slate that, wlnlis congratulating the public upon the good which h.i-j been achii'vei*, they consider thenisi-lve-; nb-.olveu from taking further action in -the mailer fur the present ; but. should their services be ro-quiie-d at any future time they will be given as cheerfully for the public weal as they were last night.
