REPORT. Business during tho past month has been highly satisfactory on tho whole, but very fluctuating. The following list includes the priueipal sales and prices realised :—: — Fruit and Vegetables. — French crab apples, per case, 15s to 20s ; stone pippins, per case, 18s to 25s ; pearmains, per caso, 20s to 30s ; oranges (damaged), per case 7s 6d to 20s ; carrots, per ton, L 10; potatos, per torn LlO 15s to Ll2. Produce. — Chaff, per ton, Ll6 to LlB 5s : butter, Wellington, Is 4d to Is 6Jd : do, Sydney, Is 2d to Is 4d ; bacon, roll, B£d to 9d. Drapery, Slops, &c. — Have held several sales, but owing to large arrivals and forced sales the market is glutted, and will take some time to recover. Tobacco. — Dull of sale at paying rates. House and Landed Property still maintains its value, and, if anything, is slightly improving near the centre of the traffic, and although many properties have been in the market, they are withdrawn in anticipation of improvement.
