Brisbane, October 31. News from Rockhampton status that a new rush has taken place to Crocodile Creek. The weekly yield of gold is 500 ounces. A meeting has been held deprecating the new taxes and the Government policy. Good prospects of gold are said to have been discovered thirty miles from Bo wen. Public meeting is to be held to- morrow, to get prospecting parties to start. Water is plentiful at the spot. November 1. The Government have commenced the issue of Treasury notes, as authorised by Parliament. The new stamp duties have also been brought into operation. The weather here is excessively warm. November 2/ Tenders for LBO,OOO of Treasury bills have been sent in at from 6d to L 3 premium, and L 55,000 at par or under. These tenders are under consideration. The first Treabury notes were issued yesterday ; and the stamp duties have been enforced. Mr Ambrose, city surveyor, has been found drowned in the river.
