Deukk axd Disobdebly. — John Nelis and Donald M'lntyre were fined, the former being an old offender, 5s for being drunk, and L 2 for disorderly conduct, or in default, four days' imprisonment ; the latter, S> for being drunk, and 15s for disorderly conduct, or in default 48 hours' imprisonment. Larceny. — John Gibson was charged by Hugh Craig, with stealiug his pockethand 1 kerchief, valued at 2s 6d. Batten, the prisoner, and the prosecutor were in the Shakßpeare Hotel last night, and during the evening prisoner attempted, on more than one occasion to pick the prosecutor's pocket, and finally succeeded in abstracting his handkerchief. Prosecutor went in • search of a constable, who searched the prisoner, but the missing handkerchief was not found on his person ; but under the sofa, upon which he was sitting. A witness, Mollenson Avas called, and stated that he had kept his eye on the prisoner when prosecutor went out m search of a constable, and further, that the prisoner had put his band into his (witness') pocket, and stolen his knife and tobacco. Prisoner was sentenced to 14 days' imprisonment with hard labor.

Thomas Reeves, on remand from the 20th inst, on a charge of being implicated in the gold robbery from the Bank of New Zealand at Okarita, was further remanded at the request of the police until the sixth of August.
