The same prisoner having beeu convicted on tho previous day for escaping from custody, whilst under committal on the above charge' was sentenced by his Honor to six months' imprisonment with hard labor, in the Hokitika gaol. John Lockyer was charged with stealing a purso from ono Andrew M ( Arthur at the North Beach, Greymouth. He, also was declared guiltloss by tho jury. Georgo Ellis and William Warner were placed in tho dock, indicted with having stolen a bag con" taming money, at Okarita, belonging to Geo,Full. After a short rotirernent tha jury re. turned with a verdict of Not Guilty. The Court then adjourned until ten o'clock this morning.
