Sunday, 5.40 p.m. The evidence given at the inquest on the body of Mr Dobson shows that he was stunned by blows on the head, and afterwards strangled by a man with a left hand. The inquest stands adjourned uutil Tuesday. • Mr Dobson's body was buried in the Cemetery to-day, between Whitcombc and Townsend. The Bishop of Christchurch performed the funeral rites, A large concourse of people attended, notwithstanding thp heavy rain which fell throughout. The inquest on Mr Rees has not been held yet. Rumor says that the cause of suicide was an unfortunate entanglement with a female. His Honor the Superintendent arrived yesterday, and was met by a deputation, who presented him with a memorial. The weather is very bad ; heavy rniu has been falling since the morning. The bar is impassable. The Rangitoto has not been seen.
