QIR,— We, the undersigned, respectfully request that you will allow yourself to bo put in nomination as a Candidato for the representation of tho District of Westland, in the Canterbury Provincial Counoil. At tho present juncture, wo consider your sorvices would be invaluable to Westland in gonoral, and to tho Waimea District in particular, being as we understand, not only a practical miner possessing a large stako in tho neighbourhood, but thoroughly familiar with tho best moans of working to advantage tho water power, which it will ore long be our pride to command. From your extensive mining experience and intimate acquaintance with the working of goldfields in all its phases, as well as from your power of explaining and communicating that knowledgo to others, we consider it highly desirable to have the advantage of your sorvices in the Council. We therefore pledge ourselves to uso evory exertion to secure your triumphant return.
