THE ENGLISH MAIL.
By the arrival of tho Lord Ashley from Sydney, we aro placed in possession of much fuller intelligence than we were enabled to placebeforo ourreaders yesterday.
The news is most important, and will be read with interest.
Our extracts aro taken from tho " Sydney Morning Herald." ADELAIDE. * The A.S.N. Company's steamer Wonga Wonga arrived at Glenelg at 9 p.m., after a passage of 104 hours from King George's Sound. The outward passage was performed in 107.
A fearful gale at King George's Sound during the night of the 6th instant delayed the departure of the Wonga Wonga until the 7th instaut, on which day the Madras was to leave for Melbourne.
The Bombay, from Melbourne, arrived at the Sound fourteen hours after the Wonga Wonga. The mail steamer Madras, Captain Farquhar, with/ the April mails, arrived at 2.30 a.m. on the 6th instant, having left Galle on tho 22nd May. Captain King, R.N., naval agent.
