tho breakwater in tho vicinity of tho old Bull Beacons, at a distance of 100 foot apart, in a W. by N. and E. by S. direction. In both cases, when tho lights aro in lino, tho bright will bo tho uppermost and tho red tho lowermost of tho two. In tho daytimo, however, tho order of colors will bo rovorsod, as it is intended to paint tho uppor beacons red and tho lowov ones whito. The lowor or north-eastern of tho two obolisks at proßont usod for tho loading mark in, situated on Shophord's Hill, will bo romovod, as likewise will bo tho remnant of tho Bull beacons on tho breakwater. Tho exhibition of these loading lights will not necessitate diftcronfc Bailing directions to thoso already publishod, any moro than tho lights and now beacons being substituted for tho obelisks and beacons which aro at present in use. In entering tho port of Nowcastlo at night great caution will bo nocessary, in consequdnco of tho strength of tho tide, and duo allowance •will havo to bo made for ebb or flow, on sighting tho north channol lights, and about to alter course from S.W. £ S., with tho fairway lights in ono, to Yf. by N., tho direction which a tossol will havo to steer to keop tho north channel lights in lino to gain an anohorago in tho north harbor. In order to inoroaso tho facilities for navigating Newcastle Harbor, leading lights for entering, and also leading lights for talcing tho north channel, will bo exhibited on and after Tuesday, tho Ist May, 1866. The two fairway lights for entering (red and bright), will be shown from boacons 228 feet apart, in a S.W. half S. and NE. half N. direotion, erected on a clear •pace of ground on the hill at tho back ,'tno town, between tho Woßleyau and Oatholio ehurohos. Those for taking the north ohannol, also red bright, will be ibowu from botwoua ereotod. on
