At auction an ordinary sample of Victorian wheat was sold at Gs 2d. (1400 bushels), and prirao sainplcß wero quitted at up to fis Gd. Five thousand bushels in nil .woro disposed of. Privately, 7s 3d was refused for a vory fino parcel of South Australian wheat. Country brands Adblaido Hour- have been wanted in small lots at £18 to £18 10s. Oats aro firm at quoted rates. A parcol of IGOO bushols good colonial realisod 5s 'lid. Sales of now irmizo aro reported at Gs, nnd old maizo has boon placed at Gs 3d. For a shipment of 40 bates gunny bags, just arrived, a figure slightly imdor 10s 9d has been taken. For coarse salt there is a fair demand, and sales havo been effected at £3 10s for a shipment of a hundred tons. Wo hear of a consignment of drawn fencing wire, Nos. 5, 7, and 8, having changed hands at full prices— £l7, £18, and £19. A parcel of fifty tons pig iron hns been sold at ct"s 17s Gd. In candles wo lioto the sale of a parcel of inuocl brands ut 13Jd. Tho wholo of tho rice oxpectod having during tho last fow days urrived, with tho exception of tho Salaeia, holders oviuce ,a iirmor attitude. All now landing — about three cargoes — is to bo stored; and a considerable advance on late rales is expected to bo obtained shortly j already £22 10 a, offered for fifty tons, has boon rof used. Kerosene oil has attracted speculative notice to somo extent, and much highor prices have been established In ono instance, somo 3000 cases wero placed in a lino, and somo other parcels havo likewise been disposed of — all that could bo purchased, in fact, at and under 3s 4Jd to 3s s|rt, and Ihero is nothing new offering under 3s 6;1, for best brands. Bottled stouts aro filill rising ; for Mat-hen's, 12s is now naked, and nono will bo sold under. Sjlcs of Marrian's new bulk alo aro effected at £7 17a 6d. Hcnnessy's o.iso brandy hns been quitted at 28s, and a parcel of 500 ciikos, with long duty, is said to havo been sold at ashado under. Sales of other brands aro also reported, at 218 Gd to 25s 6d. A small parcel of Hennery's pulo brandy in bulk brought 7s 3d. A shipment of soda crystals was purchased at £12 17s Gd.
