ANOTHER DUEADFCL MUltDEll BY THE MAORIS. We have been favored by the pursor of the Egmont with tho following "slip" of lato^ intelligence, which was put on board just prior to the steamer leaving Wellington : — A letter, dated Wanganui 7th December, had been received by A gentleman in Wellington, who permits us to make known another case of brutal butchery by the Maoris, truly horrifying in its revolting details. The writer says : — " Another most atrocious murder has been committed by the Maoris within a fyw miles of D. Peat's station (Kai-iwi). The victim thie time is a carter to Simpson, who has stores or canteens at the Front. His body was found yesterday in a horribly mutilated condition ; they had ripped him up, taken out his tongue, gouged lub eyes out, and otherwise fearfully mangled the body. The hoises were taken away. This is another victim ; his murder will also be forgotten until wo are paralysed with another act on this tragical theatre of assassins."
