West Coast Times Offico, Friday Evening. In consequence of the immense quantity of goods which have been landed aud have arrivod in the harbor during the week, staple a r ticles of nearly every kind have suffered a slight decline. This « particularly observable on flour and spirits, which for several weeks past have been very difficult to move. Owing to the late heavy importations we have little hopes of seeing any advance on the present rates ruling for flour for several months tocomo, and that even in the face of importers selling at and under cost. Several large parcels of brandiosand other spirits shipped, direot from Melbourne, together with a strong inclination shown by consignees to press sales have produced further reductions on last quota* tions. Of tho fow articles scarce at present, perhaps oats are tho most notable. For first* class samples 12s has been paid for small lots. The reduction whioh must take place on freights — when the present condition of our bar becomes known — opera' es against the Bale of this staple. Stocks continue very low. In the auction rooms there lias been spirited bidding for small parcels of suitable goods ; and the prices obtained were, on the whole, ver zeasonab'e, if not bo high as many of tho vendors anticipated. Storekeepers have been fully engaged supplying tip-count ry orders, which, during the last weok, have been unusually heavy. The newn from the south is so unsatisfactory that no gopds have been shipped, to our knowledge, in that direction, — the new rush in no way x'f.j ting this market.
