MR. PIROW’S TRIP TERSE EXPLANATION TAUNTS IN ASSEMBLY [By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright] Received March 1, 5.5 p.m. CAPETOWN, Feb. 28. The Minister of Defence (Mr. O. Pirow), after enduring bitter taunts in the Assembly regarding his recent mission to Europe, tersely enumerated his discussions as follows:—“Airways reciprocity; trade relations with Portugal and Belgium. I investigated in Spain modern warfare methods in territory corresponding to the Union’s; I discussed trade relations with Germany and Italy; paid a goodwill visit to Holland, and discussed the international situation with special reference to lasting world peace with European statesmen.” Mr. Pirow’s attitude was approved by his Ministerial colleagues.
