MAN AND WIFE KILLED TRAIN STRIKES CAR AT CROSSING ( Per Prw-i Association.) ASHBURTON, Feb. 28. A double fatality occurred at a level crossing near Fairton at 4 o'clock in the afternoon. Martin John Esker and his wife, Bessie Esker, both about 50 years, of Dromore, being killed instantly. Esker was

driving the car over the crossing when it was struck by a special southbound goods train which shattered the vehicle. The couple leave three sons, one residing at Christchurch and lh» others at Dromore.
