STAGE IN DISINTEGRATION RESIGNATION OF MR. MENZIES Received Feb. 28, 11.12 p.m. SYDNEY, Feb. 28. The Sydney Sun says the endorsement by a joint party meeting at Canberra to-morrow of the Federal Cabinet’s decision to abandon national insurance, will be followed immediately by he resignaion of the At-torney-General, Mr. Robert Menzies, Deputy-Leader of the United Australian Party in the Commonwealth Parliament. The Sun adds: “Mr. Menzies will have the support of a strong section of his party to form a corner bloc which will hoi dthe balance of power on all questions on which the Government will not have the support of the Opposition. This developmen is regarded as the first definite stage in the disintegration o£ the Lyons Government and will probably result in the Prime Minister seizing a favourable opportunity for an appeal to the country.”
